With the right tools, you
can learn face painting easily. You will find it is a really fun hobby that
some people actually turn into a business. Some places have limited shopping
available so people need to know where to buy face paint online.
I suppose, like everything
else, there are lots of places online to buy face paint and face painting
supplies. My favorite places to buy this type thing is Amazon or eBay. They have a great selection
of products and usually have the better price.
If you are a beginner, you
may wonder what type of face painting supplies you will need to get started.
Brushes:
2 #4 rounds
2 #6 rounds
1 #8 round
1 #8 flat
These 6 basic brushes will
get you off to a great start. You need a selection of different brushes to use
while you are perfecting the different brushstroke techniques used in face
painting.
Sponges:
Sponges are a must for face
painters. Cosmetic sponges do not usually work well for water based paints, so
I would avoid those. You can buy special sponges used just for face painting.
Another choice is to buy a
large sponge (like what you would use to wash your car) and cut that into
smaller, more usable pieces. You can get a few dozen sponges this way for
around $5.
Miscellaneous Items:
Paper towels, baby wipes, a
hand mirror, spray bottle, bobby pins or soft headbands to hold hair back. Many
of these items you will have laying around the house or can purchase at the
local dollar store.
Getting set up with
painting supplies doesn’t have to cost a small fortune. You should be able to
purchase a palette of paints, brushes, and sponges for $50 or less.
Some people opt to just buy a kit to get started. This is a great idea as well. It's very convenient to be able to buy it all in one shot.
